Changed my fuel filter this afternoon (Golf MK4 TDI BEW engine). Wanted to use VCDS to prime the fuel pump. Was prompted to upgrade both the software and the firmware. Now running latest...

VCDS -- Windows Based VAG/VAS Emulator Running on Windows 11 x64
VCDS Version: 25.3.2.0 (x64) HEX-V2 CB: 0.4671.4
Data version: 20250822 DS365.0

This video from IDParts is what I used as a reference a few years ago and it worked fine (same car, same HEX-V2 interface, older version of VCDS).

I've attempted to follow those instructions today and not seeing any of the basic settings groups to choose in the drop-down list. I only see two options now; EGR and Charge Pressure Control.

Did something change with the latest version of VCDS, is there a setting I missed, or might this indicate an issue with the ECM in my car?

Kinda difficult to say what's up there without seeing an Auto-Scan for context.

However, even without the drop-down, you can just go to Basic Settings Group 035 "manually", i.e. type 035 in the box labelled "Group" and click [Go!].

This is what appears when I manually type 035 and hit go. Any idea why it would be Lambda Sensor Faults instead of Fuel Supply Pump Activation? Let me know if there's somewhere else I can look or if I've got a setting wrong somewhere. I know I've done this before on this car with an older version of the VCDS software, same HEX-V2 interface (older firmware).

Posting the auto scan results that I ran this morning...

No, I'm a somewhat puzzled. I mean, that matches what's in the 038-906-016-BEW label file that VCDS is using for your engine, but I don't quite get why... Perhaps we can get @RTSupport to chime in here.

Did you click on On/Off/Next once you were in Basic Settings 035 per this video?

I'm not sure why the label says "035,0,Lambda Sensor Faults I".

I've fixed this in our data version, the next update will cover this properly (as a selection in the drop down) and not show the incorrect lambda sensor related info.

No, but can confirm this does work to exercise my fuel pump. I was thrown off by the Lambda Sensor Faults label and instead was looking for some reference to the fuel pump as outlined in the idparts video. Now realize that was probably a UDS module whereas my car has a non UDS module (as clearly articulated in the video you linked). Appreciate you sharing this.

Historically classic KWP-1281/KWP-2000 diagnostics often had the standard measuring value block also used for a relating basic setting function. While this is still the case for most modules and use cases, there are some exceptions where the 2 uses for the same block number differs. Due to this historic usage of the functions, VCDS grabs the info from meas. value block description if no specific basic setting information is found (which is the case here). The BEW has Lambda functions in the same numbers meas. blocks but uses the fuel pump actuation in basic settings.

Anyhow, I addressed this as mentioned above.
