there is that chrome seal that came with kit. It says ot goes inside dpf, item 7 on diagram. It didn't have one before. Also says note installation position. Anyone know how it's supposed to go? Also, there is that o ring which I found no replacement for.

Figured it out. Why there wasn't a seal there before, I don't know. Test drive for about 6 miles. Got P 2459 again with soot levels only at 17g, so didn't even reach 24g like before but got the fault code. Will be driving longer trip today see what it does. It did smoke out exhaust pipe briefly at first probably leftover residue from when turbo busted up allowing oil thru.

Posted auto scan. Also, am concerned that if DPF is plugged it will damage new turbo in no time, which I suspect is what happened to old turbo. Does this happen right away? The buzzing sound old turbo was making was happening for coupple of years before finally turbo started leaking so that would lead to me to believe it takes a while (not that i will wait that long before addressing). But now am not sure that vit took that long maybe because of the mentioned low fuel pressure i had been having for just as long and frequent limp mode, hence never really under fulll load for extended driving times. Since low fuel pressure was fixed; about a month ago, now turbo failed. I just don't want to fry new turbo so am driving sparingly. Thoughts?

I never performed the smoke test previously mentioned since turbo went out and needed replacing. I will today.

Referring to restrictions in the hose/lines. And yea, not sure validity of this but I stuck smoke hose fitting into dpf pressure sensor hose leading directly into dpf. I can feel the air from the smoke machine coming out of the temp sensor fitting on the downpipe of dpf , but don't see the smoke.

With temp sensor back on, I did also test same dpf sensor hose with mityvac and the needle on mityvac does not move at all, indicating , I think , free flow thru dpf. However, I would sumise that though the dpf may be plugged enough to call for frequently regens, it's not plugged enough for this mityvac or smoke detector minimal pressure to feel any resistance, the type of resistance under load.

Also, noticed oil wetness where oil air cooler and hose joint. Should there be any oil there? I'll try post a pic

Huh? :confused:
I think you're showing a charge pipe off the intercooler in your pic.... is that what you're calling an oil/air cooler/hose joint?

My bad. Yes , the intercooler, yes . I thought it's air passing thru there and it's cooled. Anyway, is it normal to have some oil there?

Yes you will normally have oil from the crankcase ventilation system build up in the intercooler, also possible to get additional oil if you have a leaking turbo compressor seal

Quick question: I disconnected the control line (hose from differential press sensor leading into particulate filter) drove car around the block and got P0029 turbo boost range not reached or something to that effect. Is this to be expected with that hose disconnected? Just want to be sure before I go chasing other parts.
