2008 (manufactured April 2008) VW Passat 2.0 TSI, automatic, 100k miles.
Newly acquired car that my wife bought for our 16 year old son. Said it didn't have a CEL when she bought it...but now it does!
P119A Fuel Pressure Sensor (G247)
P0171 Fuel Trim; Bank 1
The car seems to drive fine, decent performance for a 17 year old car with 100,000 miles on it. I have checked the crankcase breather (PCV) assembly and it seems to be in working order. I removed it, inspected the diaphragm, conducted a
suck/blow test on it(has suction, but restricts blowing). I sprayed starting fluid/ether around the intake manifold looking for any vacuum leaks, nothing apparent. I also sprayed ether into the transmission inspection port in attempts to check the rear main seal integrity. No change in RPM or idle(there is oil present at the inspection port, but the injection/HPFP pump is leaky so that could be the cause of that oil leak). Fuel pressures seem to be in range according to VCDS readings. From a sticker under the hood, it looks like the timing belt(chain?), water pump and tensioner were replaced in 2021 at 83k miles. Not sure where to start looking next. Any help is appreciated.
