HI, IM NEW TO THIS WHOLE THING ILL ADMIT, I have a 2019 jetta, ran fine, one day i parked when got home, and in half an hour wanted to start the vehicle and drive away, nothing, it has power, sometimes when pressing the ignition button,(yes it has button, not key) a message appears that says dont leave the vehicle if its not in park, sometimes nothing happens, or shows up, radio works, key fob works i suppose cause lock/unlock work, when i press and hold the unlock button on key fob, and then also press and hold ignition button, after a few seconds a message appears, saying key not detected, place on designated area, which doesnt help either, i have replaced the ignition button switch, but know know where else to look or start, i got my adapter and software, but how can i scan if i cant get ignition to switch on?

This is a model we do not get but to me it sounds the same as the system we get on the Passat 3C with an electric steering column lock, these fail and shut the ignition functions down. What is the VIN?

Please post an Auto-Scan made using a legal English copy of VCDS so we can see how your Jetta is equipped as well as details of the fault codes

" I got my adapter and software" If the software came on a disc it is a clone / pirate version of VCDS. It will not work. Return it and get your money back. I maybe wrong but I think there is always power to the OBD port, it is just most modules will not respond if ignition is off.

That's true if it's the English only version of VCDS but IIRC if it's a local translation by a distributor then sometimes the local translation will come on a CD - and since @heinwiebe is in Mexico that could be the case here if he has purchased the Spanish language version from the Mexico distributor.

Weird spec, 1.4T 8 speed slush box! My expectation would be an issue with the column lock 2Q0 905 861 A
