Hi all,
Thanks for approving me to join this forum, I have lurked around for years and got a lot of help from the posts but this time I cannot figure it out. I thought that with the knowledge of the guys in here someone might be able to help so registered an account.
My car is a 2010 UK VW Touran 1T2, 1.9tdi. It was a midline model when we bought it 11 years ago and recently I have started to have a play and see what I can upgrade, more for the fun of doing it more so than the functionality sometimes.
First was the ECU. I wanted a remap but money was tight at the time so i cheaped out and bought a pre done ECU from an online company which offered 'stage 1' 145hp. This was supplied 'immo off' so was plug and play really. Noticed a big difference in the car so was pretty happy with it. All good.
Next was the front fog lights as the car never had them. I had to run the additional wires and upgrade the CECM to highline to do so. Fitted the loom, fogs, switch and extra wiring no problem, coding was simple as well with VCDS and they work as OEM with cornering etc. Still all good.
I wanted a MFSW so picked up one from a Passat. Fitted and coded no issues. As I wasn't sure what steering module supported the wheel I upgraded it to highline. I also had to replace the rhs stalk as the controls were no longer required on the side. This was an aftermarket stalk and throws up a fault so I plan to replace it but it works as it should.
Next the clocks / instrument cluster....
I picked up a highline set from eBay which arrived yesterday and wanted to make sure they functioned before leaving feedback. Simple - or so I thought.
Trim and 2 screws out, I pulled them out. Slid the new ones in and turned the key to be greeted with 'Immobilizer active' and a few fault lights. Happy they powered up, I pulled them again and swapped back as didn't have time for coding etc at the time.
Now the problem starts - ABS doesnt work or steering angle sensor. I'll post the autoscan to show the detail.
Tried to clear - no joy.
I dug out an older autoscan from before the swap and compared - same coding so nothing to overwrite.
I then read on here the VINs need to match up - is this correct?
Anyway, I decided to swap back to the old stock ECU so did that this morning. Same faults as expected but the coding must be wrong somewhere. The clocks, ECU and ABS are all the same VIN now. (original factory parts)
It drives but feels uneasy on the steering so need to get this sorted as soon as possible.
Anyone who can help me on this one?
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks.
