That's OG right there. No AI, no Clouds, all business with local control. This is the way

And I thank you for steering me toward it a few years ago! The alternatives were Sense or Emporia, both of which are cloud-based. No thank you. I do not want that level of detail of my usage on yet another company's servers. Of course, the PECO (the utility) and Enphase (solar) already have some of that, but not to that level of detail.

I hope that you have your deposit in as these will sell like hotcakes... until they don't. ;)
I do; I think I got it in on the first day, or not long after.

Good thing 'cause they might only make 6 vehicles... :D Just kidding. Hey if they turn a profit in 10-15 years Zuckerberg or someone will buy them and run them into bankruptcy.

Pre-orders opened up on the TELO MT1 prior to the Slate and I went in that direction just over a year ago. These guys may flop but that truck is similar in size with AWD options:

My husband keeps asking me when my "Temu truck" will be delivered :D

Until they can document and program every possible scenario into AI (which is impossible), there is no way for fully autonomous vehicles to be legit.
So human drivers have been trained on every possible scenario?

No? Then what you're saying is that human drivers aren't "legit" either?

Self driving cars will never be perfect, they WILL reduce accidents in the same way post war aviation legislation has made air transport THE safest way to travel BUT they will never completely stop accidents; so, in the same way as with aviation accidents, the small number of fatalities will cause a public outcry and who gets the blame? The driver is going to say fuck you, not my fault and sue the manufacturer who will then, when they lose, as they will, turn round and say sod that, we ain't playing this game. How many people died in road accidents on Monday? Roughly 3500 on average but, we all know about the two pilots from Scare Canada who died. So if road accidents drop by the same amount as aviation, we are going to see headline news about road deaths every day.

I ran FSD (Supervised) for roughly 750 miles over two days and the car behaved as it should. It even proactively braked when it saw a car try to swerve into a tractor trailer.

At this point, i trust FSD more than the idiots driving around here. I'm convinced, it doesn't matter how much you prep , an idiot in a suburban with bald tires could take you out at any point. I’d rather have my eyes + 8 cameras looking out for bad drivers than just my own two.

But it does go wrong, just watching Wham Bam Tesla Cam proves, that so how loud would you shout (if you survived) if it made a mistake?

FSD right now is Supervised. The driver still has to keep eyes on the road, and take over if necessary.

Wham bam tesla cam shows a lot of human interaction causing the accidents. I didnt really see much of FSD bugging out and crashing due to programming. Its more autopilot does something, human over corrects and crashes.

Autopilot and FSD are not the same. Autopilot = active cruise control, FSD = level 2 automation

The recent sensationalized story thats been making the rounds is the cybertruck that crashed into the guardrail in a highway.

The driver turned off autopilot 4 seconds before crashing into the wall. People are quick to blame the tech, when they should be blaming the driver.

Is FSD perfect, nope , but the tech will save lives.

CORRECT - humans have a brain - AI does not !!! Not everyone uses that brain properly, but they should. We see their failings everyday so we should NOT duplicate them. ;)

The driver turned off autopilot 4 seconds before crashing into the wall. People are quick to blame the tech, when they should be blaming the driver. - The driver took control at the last second as the car didn't follow the roadway and drove directly into a concrete barrier. It should NOT have done that under any circumstances - which is the whole point of the criticism. If it had gone right or left there would have been no accident, just an incorrect route. ;)
