I have the HEX-NET. I switched from Comcast to Verizon. I am trying to get infrastructure mode to work so I can retract my parking brake. The car is on a lift with the wheels off and I am stuck. I have the correct network name and key in the network configurations. I have:

Profile #2
Network mode: infrastructure
IP mode: DHCP
Security: WEP

I have tried different IP modes and security. I can get both green lights on but I can't find the HEX NET on my network. I can connect with it in AP mode. Any thoughts? I do not have a PC. I am on a MAC and it worked fine on my old network. I am not savvy when it comes to networks, etc. I just don't have any interest. I just want to plug it in and have it work. Thanks in advance for any help.

Probably your AP firewall does not allow device to device comms? Still odd to be like this. How do you set the network in your hex net without PC? In AP mode?

So
I just want to plug it in and have it work.
I hate to be that guy, but if that's what you want, beg/borrow/steal a PC and plug the HEX-NET in via USB. ;)

We're not in a position to remotely figure out why the WiFi router that Verizon presumably supplied you with doesn't work as expected. I have Verizon FIOS, but I wouldn't dream of using any ISP's WiFi router.

I just entered the information in AP mode then toggled to infrastructure. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong here. I tried every combo of settings

I was more wondering if someone could tell me if it seemed I was configuring it incorrectly. I have all sorts of other things from TVs, music players garage door openers, etc that don't have any sort of issue. But you think it is the router?

Some of the our folks who've seen this thread are wondering if WEP is really what you should be using with a modern WiFi router.

Try changing that.

If you got the middle LED to be green, I would try to go back to whatever you did then, it means the interface was connected. Then you just need to figure out what IP address it is at. Note that if you are tweaking the network settings through mobile, you will almost certainly lose the connection and have to switch your phone to the infrastructure network as well.

DHCP for IP mode? The strange thing is I get two green lights but it says it can not find the HEX NET on the network. Then I just got a notice that a firmware update is available so I assuming something is connecting somewhere.

Yes DHCP should be fine. If the middle LED is green then you need to make sure your phone is switched to the same network, and then run the scan for interfaces again, assuming you are using the app.

Working on my iphone on the Verizon network but mot on my MAC. That works for now but the MAC is easier for me. I started an update which went to 70% then crashed. Now it's stuck at 0%

How are you trying to connect to it from your Mac, with a web browser? With VCDS in a virtual machine? At the very least, you need to make sure that your Mac is on the same wifi network as the interface. If you have separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi you might need to manually switch the Mac the the 2.4GHz network depending on how your router is set up.

VCDS app on the MAC. I only see one network and it doesn't specify 2.4 or 5.0 so I assume it is 5.0

Does VCDS see the interface via USB if you plug it in? You could try finding the IP address of the interface, through the app for example, and then entering that IP address manually in VCDS [options] page in the fixed IP address field.

I can't plug it in because my MAC doesn't have a USB port. My phone is working with it but the update keeps crashing. when rebooting.I'll see if I can find the IP address

Surely your Mac has some type of USB port, USB-C ports probably? You might want to look into getting a USB-C to USB-A adapter or USB-C to USB printer connecter to plug in the interface directly.
