No, because the heating voltage supply is from a simple relay.

And no kidding, a new B7 heated + camera genuine part windscreen replacement is close to 900€.

I'm not so sure. I remember vaguely that when we retrofitted these and testing BCM with simple relay it for whatever reason gave fault code.

Of course this will happen only if You turn it on. And You can always code them out.

Remove the domelight module, look inside and unfasten the ground nut attached to the roof. Remove the glass' ground strap and refasten the nut.

Plus wires are in each lower corner of the glass, under the hood. Look under the waterbox covers.

So you actually did retrofit heated glass with non-heated. How did it turn out?

How do I cut glass out without cutting those wires?

Remove the wiper arms and covers. Then you can disconnect the heating connectors.

Ok. Here are photos of the lower wiring connectors for the heated windscreen in case anyone else ever needs to know. photos
I removed 60A fuse and tested by turning switch on. The switch indicator still lights, but there is no dash warning.
I'm gonna replace screen with non-heated version. I cant see paying an extra 200Euro for a feature I may have used once in the last 18 months and that I have got by without for 40 years!
