2012 Turbo Beetle, Tried to swap a gauge cluster, lost the long coding, repair gauge cluster?

Just got the scan tool, seems to work pretty great!

I made the mistake of trying to swap a gauge cluster in the car because the analog speedometer needle stopped working, found out the hard way that you can't just swap it back.

So I have 3 questions:

1.) How do I figure out the long codes for the modules that got reset? ABS, Electric steering

2.) How do I fix/get the cluster fixed? I imagine its the motor for the actual needle, because the digital part works (Buts its also stuck in kilometers? Tried changing it back to MPH via the ,manual. Is it possible to swap in another cluster at all?

3.) Also the radio went into "SAFE" Mode, can this tool tell me the passcode to unlock it?

Been known thing since 2009. The late, great Jack discovered it and literally tried to make a federal case out of it, but didn't get very far. Back then, lost ABS coding would trigger a check engine light too, meaning the car wouldn't pass an emissions test. He did succeed in getting VW to change the ECU software so that wouldn't happen, but he did not succeed in getting them to publish a proper coding chart for these ABS modules.

In any case, the lesson for you is: Always run a scan before beginning any work in order to have a baseline.

Is there a way to decipher what code it needs?

Yes, there are people here who can build those codings from scratch. I'm not one of them.
