Hi, having issues coding the A5-Frt Sens. Drv. Assist module on a late KJ Seat. The module doesn't appear to have SFD, and i have tried the Workshop and Importer as 123..... or taking the one from the controller and trying to code with that. Each time i get the following message: Coding Rejected, Error 00:Unknown (0x00). I am trying to change the lane departure default coding from Activated to Last Setting. Any ideas appreciated, thanks.

The module itself does not, but the Gateway does and could be blocking things.

In MQB Classic cars with following gateway where a double Index Bx is used, are UNECE cars
You can also easy see if "Component" is named: GW 2023 CLA

These Gateway mean it's a UNECE car, where Gateway blocks the communication.
These Gateway are the same as in MQBw/MQB2020 cars, but only the low variant with different software. Also Plug is different, to the old 3Q0 907 530 Ax, but same as in MQBw cars ;-)

You got me ..... ;-) Solution in MQB Classic is to create a small adapter between these plugs and change gateway for coding. But this just solve the diagnostic filter "issue", not the UNECE relevant data which are monitored

Thanks AINils, I think I follow. Does that mean if the ‘special’ connector is used we bypass the gateway altogether, or maybe even use a different bus? Either way it sounds a little involved for this change, which I guess is exactly what the factory were looking to achieve.

I don't know about the 15xx software for the 2Q0 camera but my understanding is that software 1423 is the latest without UNECE "issues" and that 1602 is 1423 without UNECE.
Not a VCDS function but a "downgrade" to 1423 would avoid the UNECE "issues" on the camera, though you would still need the special adapter.

That said... maybe none of this is worth the effort for the change you're trying to make. And if your camera has active SWAPs (Sign Recognition or the like) definitely do NOT down/side grade the firmware.

Unpack frf to ODX and check for AES Key.

Non UNECE use 1024
UNECE use 3072
So this is how you can see which SOP they are

UNECE "write protection" is just handled in gateway in MQB classic, so bypass Gateway will let you write changes. But aware all the approval-relevant things will swap to "illegal"

Thanks Cuzoe and AINils, as you say, may not be worth it for a possible downgrade and the possible side effects. Would be cool though if VCDS could crack the SFD blocker (if it’s even possible) as it makes these later cars pretty much locked down from a coding point of view.
Good though we have added to the knowledge base for others who may get the same issue.
