A "Session Log" is where VCDS will create a simple text file of data (fault codes, live readings, ect). As you work with the car, you can add to the text file.
To start a Session Log, you will click the [Save Codes] or [Add to Log] button as shown in the 2 examples:
When a Session Log is first started, the text file needs a name. VCDS may have the VIN and Odometer data filled out. Or you can type in information yourself. Notice the file name is based on what data is, or is not, typed into the 4 fields. Click [OK] to start the Session Log:
You will now have the Session Log window open up below VCDS.
As you [Save Codes] or [Add to Log], you will se the number of lines in the text file count up:

Be sure to [Done,Close] to end a session long before you go to the next car, otherwise you will add data from the 2nd car to the report of the first car.

- [View/Print] will open the text file in Windows Notepad, from there, you an print the report.
- [Show Location] will open the \Logs folder where the text file is saved.
- [Done, Close] will end the Session Log. It is important you do this before you go to the next car!
