Tiguan - Park/Steer Assist - Missing Message

Good afternoon all,

Please see my scan below for my recently purchased Tiguan. I am working through the faults and one that stands out as a bit of a head scratcher, is the U1121 fault code for the park assist. I't looks like the system is looking for something that doesn't exist, but I cannot see what that might be.
The current coding in the module is 149203. There is no towbar fitted and I'm currently trying to find the option codes to see what should be fitted/activated.

During diagnostics, other warnings came up for low battery voltage and a repetitive 'bong' sound, sure enough, the battery looks goosed, with 9v with ignition on and 12v at rest, ignition off. I had better replace this before going any further.

Where does that information come from and why the link to the BCM? If I knew what the message actually meant, I'd have half a chance of resolving the issue.
That message says no signal or communication, so perhaps a data wire broken or incorrect coding.

I did and it did.

Having slept on this, lets see if I understand this correctly...
The fault is on the park assist system. The actual fault is U1121 'Missing Message', so the module is missing data from the steering control module, which it obviously sees, so data is transferring. The message that is missing is coming from the ignition lock on J527, so perhaps coding, or a faulty module.
How did you glean 'J527/BCM - mZAS_1 - kein Signal/keine Kommunikation' from the fault code? Was it the preceding code number 12718592?

I take it that my VCDS system isn't able to decode UDS?

The function doesn't appear to work, so I'm not sure that it's spurious, but it is annoying.

Edit: The Parking Distance Warning button light is flashing too and to be clear, when I mention 'Parking Assist', I am referring to the audible and visual warnings given by the proximity sensors.

Edit 2: I now have the HEX-V2 inbound. That should help.

So, digging deeper into this, is ignition lock not something that is only particular to auto transmissions?
Mine is a manual box and wouldn't have the ignition lock, or is it something else? Why would the park assist feature be looking for a signal that shouldn't exist? This looks like a coding issue, but I cannot see what it might be just yet, either way, the park assist is currently not working and the flashing button indicates the same.

Thank you, that is useful to know. I have the wiring diagrams and will look deeper.
So, to clarify, the park assist system is looking for a communication from J527 (over the CAN bus) from a descrete signal from the ignition barrel, which, looking at the wiring diagram briefly, gives me 6 wires to check, aside from the VCDS signal function.
That narrows down the fault finding area, much appreciated.

I've rescanned with the new interface, no surprises that there was no new info, but I've also taken a log of the advanced measuring values that I could find, related to any lock.
