Hello everyone,

First off extremely happy to be a part of the community! I recently picked up a B8.5 (2016) Audi S4 and have been loving it! I currently have a question though with a condition I am experiencing.

I kept smelling fuel overall at idle and such, so I used my VCDS and looked up my fuel trims to see my Long Term mixture on bank 1 to be pretty negative (I believe it was -20 to -25). I reset the codes to clear the trim and it pretty much immediately back at idle creeped up to -10 to -11 just on bank 1. Bank 2 values seem ok overall.

3/21 update: I experienced a weird start, where the car started and almost hiccuped/stumbled (didn’t stall) and then revved back up to normal high rpm. Just a hypothesis, could a bad HPFP that’s leaking by cause this start condition and bank 1 values to be elevated since I assume they’re the first line of fueling?

Some background is, car is stage 1 tuned (034 motorsports), 115k miles, there is a code for PCV (I believe it is the small breather hose, as the PCV itself was replaced not long ago by previous owner). I plan to reflash to stock to check fuel trims to see if it is fixed, so I can report back there.

Just looking for any advice/guidance from the community or experts on this so I can fix it before it becomes too bad. Since it is isolated to bank 1, I am hoping it’s not a terribly difficult fix/troubleshooting.
