Hi,

I have a Ford Transit Connect L2 2024 model which is a VW Caddy Maxi 2024.

I would like to retrofit a few parts, but every shop I've been to says that VCDS and ODIS do not support this model. It is not clear to me wether they mean Ford models or the new Caddy 2024 models.

So can anybody enlighten me to this situation and what todo?

For instance I would like to retrofit a reversingcamera, at the dealer they say it's part of a package which includesa lot of options that I do not want or need and they want 3600 euro's for the complete package ex labour.

In principle, if all the systems in it are VW, it should work. But until someone plugs VCDS into one and posts a scan, it's difficult to make anything authoritative.

It's a VW Caddy, no doubt about it.

You know how Stelantis cars are very careful announcing their origin? You have to look very hard to find a Renault or Toyota logo.

VW has no problem to proudly announce the car was made by them. As soon as you open the hood you are greeted by a huge VW AG sticker on the oil filter. When you look around you'll find VW AG all over the place. Very small on cables to huge on big parts.

The ECU and other components all say VW AG. The technical manuals are nearly identical, the drawings are the same except Ford gives their part numbers, but when you look it up it's the same as the VW part.

So as I understand right now, nobody knows for sure and it costs them money to try so they aren't eager to try.

Or is it because these shops have hacked versions which can't be updated and thus they know from the start that it's not going to work.

Is VCDS at all capable of programming new parts into these newer cars? As I understand it, it has to be done through the factory servers.

As Uwe stated, your best bet would be to find someone nearby with a VCDS who could do an autoscan (not using up one of their "Registrations" so it will cost them nothing) to find out whether it's possible to do further tinkering.

I pick my PHEV connect up on or around the 12th, will let you know..

Had a play with the infotainment, it’s just reskinned, no different to VW’s other brands I.e Skoda etc..
