Not totally new but issues with updated software and Hex 2 unit

I have not used VCDSD is LONG time..maybe over a year. I plug it in..... it says i cant read as I have old version... 22.9 so I updated to the latest 25.3.... All that goes ok. then is says to test my hex 2 as it need firmware updates,. upon checking for firmware updates say I am up to date....but when I run a test..says I need a firmware update???????

Im lost as to why it says I have to update firmware but then says im up to date.... dont multiple times and after reboots of computer......will search around but this is where Im stuck....getting a new vw and want change some things. Thank you all.

Plug the cable into your PC and go to VCDS VCIConfig and check for update(s) there.

I did and it says im up to date...thats the issue....it does not see an update for my hex v2.... says I need one when I do a test..but when i let it look for updates says its up to date???

I rebooted computer as I just updated software and got the same.....

OK I just read on another thread to open the config directly from the folder and run that way... will do that now and report

What's the serial number printed on the main product label of your HEX-V2?

The format is "Hxx-nnnnnn" where x and n are numeric digits.

NO after that issue above years ago I went and got the RIGHT one from Ross........

H10-000000 has the ross tech imprinted right on it. The one from previously was a faker I fell for on ebay..then realized you go right to ross tech to get everything you need set up.

will try on another machine as Ive heard that mentioned too.

Ok then...Tme to put up or shut up... I thought I got from Ross tech but obviously not. I remember having a problem first use and I was on with a tech support to get it working....but must not have been what I thought....Do it right or go home I will.
