My partner was driving to work in my car and suddenly (according to his story) the car lost pressure and all the dash lights came on and he had to pull over because the car would barely drive. He said prior to that it seemed to be operating with less power than usual - similar to the way it was driving when I previously had to have a new DPF installed a year or so ago. When I went to check the car it would not start, tried to jump it and still no start. Ran auto scan on VCDS prior to having it towed home. Since I got it home I have briefly tried to check for cracked hoses and what not but was unable to get it into a shop bay until this weekend. I checked the oil and there was NONE on the dipstick. I had bought oil and filter right before the car broke down to change it. It had just came time but there was no indication of oil leak or any oil (or engine for that matter) problems. I am wondering if the oil is related or a separate issue? I have read and watched the videos on wastegate actuator arm, jacks cheap fix, the tech bulletin from VW and god knows what else. I am unsure where to begin other than getting it on jackstands so I can get under it but thought I would start with posting here. TIA for any advice/tips!

***I just remembered, when I went to check the car while it was still on the side of the road I cleared the codes at that time hoping it would allow it to start. It did not work. Luckily I had already ran and saved the autoscan before doing so.

It's 29 degrees or so in the shop so dead cold is no problem. This is probably as stupid question as it sounds but is there a way to warm the engine when it wont start? I ran another auto scan since the previously posted one was from months ago. Nothing has been done with the car since the prior scan aside from having it towed home (on a trailer) and then pushing it into the shop after sitting in the driveway for three months while I worked on other vehicles:rolleyes:

Eh, not finding what I was expecting... on some newer gen TDI CR engines, there is a MAP/air temp sensor that goes bad and reports a very air temp reading... your values seem fine, air and coolant a few degrees from each other.

When you say "no start", as in no cranking? Or cranking, but not firing?

Previously when I tried to start it nothing happened. I tried to start it and it started to crank, but it’s a little crooked, it’s on stands and I had one leg in to depress the clutch so when it began to crank I just turned it off. I took a video last night of the oil leaked on to various parts that I could post if it would be helpful. Except I’m unsure how to go about doing so.

I apologize for the delay but finally got back to the car. It turns out that the reason my car wouldn't start was that my significant other drove it until it ran out of diesel. I put diesel in it and changed the oil and filter. The oil that drained out of it was at most 30 ounces. I then started the car and let it idle while I checked some values and ran another auto scan. I didn't copy it until I had already closed VCDS and it was on the notepad so hopefully it reads as it should. I have 6 more fault codes found than the previous scan. The car has not been driven. It has not been taken down off the stands since it was towed home and I jacked it up. I have started it twice. I read a bunch of the SSP's related to my car and have a vague understanding of the turbo/oil system but am unsure where to start or what to address first. The oil that leaked is in at least five different areas. I have never reset the service reminder for the oil change with VCDS but saw what looked like a way to do that but when I selected it all sorts of things started happening and I hit cancel as it was more than I had bargained for. I did read at the bottom of the section it saved to the log the "Oil level thermal sensor not connected to instrument cluster" message and don't know what that is referencing or if it is of concern. I saw that the additional faults found were all at the same mileage which if beyond the mileage I am at currently. At least according to the mileage listed at the top of the scan. They also all said 255 for the reset counter... I selected quite a few measuring blocks just to see what they said as well as to check the DPF because I had to have it replaced previously (the second for the car) and I wanted to see the levels. It looks to me like it needs to do a regeneration, is that correct???
