So I did the adaptation cal and watched the blade and from what I understand it should go to 8 different opening states.

I hear it tring to move however I only see the tb open to maybe 10% at best.

Is that correct or should I see it move to full open and all the steps in between.

Car will run and drive and go wot, but shortly after it has a fit
Epc lite limp mode and throws a bunch of codes.

I will answer my own question since I found out, and someone else might need to know.

the throttle body makes 8 step movements in and out, and it only opens a little bit when opening. at the end of the test if the relearn is good vcds will say test ok.

I assumed that because the tb was not opening all the way during the calibration that something was wrong with it. I tested on another known good tb and it did the same.

Turns out in my case i had a loose wire in my crank position sensor and it would touch the case grounding out and causing the car to go into limp mode.

When you do the Basic Setting, the last field should briefly show "Adp run" and then change to "Adp OK". If so, it's good. If not, there should be a fault code.

Correct, thank you I was going to run the test again to get the exact verbiage in vcds.
