First post, and as expected, it's a bit of a headache (for me at least!)
So, long story short, the EPB switch in my tiguan got wet and stopped working. We couldn't move the car as the parking brake was on, and no way to dissengage. Couldn't get a new switch either as it was late.
I hooked up VCDS to see if I could wind them in with the service mode, but it said there was an error on all of the different options.
In the end, the only way I could get it moved to a safe place was to put 12v to the parking brake motors and manually wind them in.
The new switch has arrived, so I plugged that in. It has the P with a line through it on the dash, and still says there is a parking brake fault, see service manual. The light on the switch itself is flashing also. I tried to code the new switch in VCDS and it said module not responding. Once again, I also tried to wind the motors back out with VCDS and it has all the same errors again.
I cleared the codes and only two remain (for the brakes anyway...) Auto-Scan results shown below. The fuses in the panel by the drivers dash have been replaced, but didn't appear to be blown.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
