If you meant me, I never wrote about crash-damaged cars. I've done two which have been in crash damage and neither had a pyro-fuse. I was mainly commenting on that.

Looks like the OPs car has had front-end collision damage, so most likely some of the voltage feeds are damaged that come from the engine bay fuse box (which is the main voltage distribution as well). So you're right that measuring what is coming to GW is correct.

I don't think GW itself is damaged. There is crash shutdown bit that activates but that can be cleared from GW without really any bigger hurdle. And that does not impact on ignition behaviour.

no need write a book about what you did, your knowledge etc ...

hi guys, appreciate the replies, yes, here she is in all her glory, its an ex ambulance and has a lot of additional wiring for all the extra systems they had and im not even sure if it might have some kind of extra immobiliser on it. The wiring diagram comes from SuperEtka, so yes, might not be correct but shows a pyro fuse on SA1.

The kodiaq will be our new family car although I am a 50 year old part time mechanic who has been spannering for 40 years and has spent the last 10 years specialising in small VAG write offs, so I would say i'm a competent mechanic, have a degree in mechanical engineering and an a level in electronics. I'm used to reading these wiring diagrams and am competent on VCDS. but Im no auto electrician or specialist.

Im spending sunday on the car, making various mechanical and electrical fixes and will reports back once the obvious stuff is checked. There is damage to the engine loom going up the the injectors and various other sensors, the CAN lines might be damaged.

SA fuses are on the front connector row in engine bay fuse box. The one where you have those big red wires.

Ok, so just to close this out, repaired all the damaged wiring on the engine loom, found a couple of blown fuses in SB fuse box, this got the clock and date coming up on the dash, and the steering lock disengaging with the key, then my uncle plugged his Autec diagnostic in, and by 'resetting something' (he's not sure what he did, the ignition came on. His code reader shows a faulty start stop button, so I've ordered one of those and that should be it.

Elsawin does show a pyro fuse up to 2021, but I can't find it!
Pyro fuse should be pretty close to the battery. Also this fuse only disables the starter motor I think...?

Pyro fuses are generally used in vehicles which have their battery/batteries in the trunk.
