Setting the default distance for Adaptive Cruise Control

Hi all. I'm trying to set the default distance setting for the Adaptive Cruise Control, I found this method but I'm a bit stuck as under Module 13, Adaptation, I don't see anything to do with the default distance. Let alone "Channel 07" which it mentions:

Module 13 - Auto Distance Regulation Adaptation - Channel 07 Set to 1 Reboot the MMI - Press MENU, central MMI knob and top right softkey Outcome - In the MMI you should now be able to go to Car > Driver Assistance > Adaptive Cruise and see a new option there to set the default adaptive cruise distance.

Here's a screenshot of the Adaptaiton list. Would it be any of these?


Car is a 2015 Audi A8L W12.

I watched the video on creating controller maps. So this is where I would set the Debug Level to "2" and re-run the scan, then it will create .PLS & .PLB files for every module?

I would just like to see the Adaptations from module 13. Getting that should only take a few seconds. Running the whole car will take considerably long, potentially 20 minutes or more.

You sure are correct about that Uwe, when I did my RS5 block maps and adaption channel maps for the entire car (ie all the modules) it was 40-45 min. for Each of those two! (with vehicle running).

And the Op has a A8 which I would guess has 12-14 more modules than my RS5.

Edit: Op has 51 addresses ; my RS5 has 34 addresses . I would estimate his would be 1 hour Each (block maps and adaption channel maps) , total 2 hours.

That seems high, but much depends on the modules in the car, how measuring values and Adaptation channels they have, and how fast they answer requests.

I based my "20 minutes or more" on my most recent Auto-Scan with Debug Level 2 on our 2018 Tiguan SEL Premium. It also has 34 addresses. The complete scan with both MVB and ADP maps in that car took 19:41.

Possibly. Address 5F already has ACC menus enabled via coding so we don't believe any additional menus can be enabled in that controller directly.

Address 13 has this Adaptation Channel: IDE01949-Distance basic setting option OFF

Our recommendation is to try tuning that adaptation channel on. If you receive an error related to Security Access Required try using the ones in the VCDS help balloon first. Those are: 89531 and 20103

With any luck a new menu that lets you save the distance setting appears in the MMI after the change.

I have no idea why they would hide this from the user but glad to hear that ADP channel sorted it.

Another scan won't show changes (since that's within the Adaptation function) however a photo of your MMI screen proudly showing the menu options may help someone in the future with a MLB based A6/7/8 in the future!

Time permitting you can share a link if your phone saves photos to a cloud service by default (i.e.Google photos or similar) or upload it to a host like imgur and share a pic that way.

Just a thought, where there are no labels: ie. "Labels: None", I'll send an email (instead of spamming here) to ask if you'd like them. Would it be pointless if you have Label files for them?
