Hello everyone, a little new here so this will be my first post. I am having a few concerns regarding my DPF on my 2013 Passat TDI.

Here is some background first.
Originally I had an engine light for a few months relating to the Adblue heater, It got to the point about a month ago that the vehicle locked me from starting it again due to the SCR lock. At that point I ordered this software, and a replacement heater assembly, dropped the tank, cleaned it, installed the new heater and filled with fresh fluid.
I reset the SCR lock, relearned the adblue level and drove it around and the fault went away.
About a week later I noticed frequent regenerations, about every 50 miles or less (I drive mainly highway to work every day, 50 miles one way)
The engine light came back on with a regeneration frequency code. I removed the differential sensor, cleaned it carefully with electronics cleaner, blew air through the hoses and reset the code, after a few more times of this error showing back up I ordered a new sensor and replaced it. A few days later is when I found out that you are supposed to adapt these sensors. While I adapted it correctly, I accidentally pressed "resetting of learned values of particulate filter."
Since then, the engine light remains, I have performed a few forced regens, and noticed my oil ash volume reads 0, I believe the car uses that value to help determine how frequently the DPF needs to regenerate but I am not sure.
My wife has the same vehicle but a 2014, and with 120,000 miles, her reading is about 0.12
Did I screw something up by relearning values of the particulate filter and is there a way for me to give it a value that would be in some way close to it's mileage? About 197,000 miles currently. I am aware that this filter is more than likely at the end of it's life but I was hoping to buy some time until I can afford to replace it or finish paying off the car.
I also notice after a regen, my values are the following,
-Difference pressure: 9hPa (if I raise the RPM it climbs to around 14-20 and then does not drop back to 9 when I return it to idle)
-Oil ash volume: 0.00
-Soot Mass Calculated: 1.2
-Soot Mass Measured: (usually in the range of negative values around 2)
Here is also my auto scan results, hopefully someone can shed some insight so I know which path to take. I am learning more about this every day but kind of worried I may have screwed myself over with resetting learned values.
Have a great weekend everyone,
Matt

Really !!

Do you expect that someone will read and absorb that text in one go ?? It is a block of text !! Garbage !!

Main concern, did I mess something up with resetting learned values of DPF, if I did, is there a way to add some kind of value into the computer so it believes the ash volume is somewhat relating to the mileage?

is there a way for me to give it a value that would be in some way close to it's mileage? About 197,000 miles currently.
Your ECU has an Adaptation channel:

IDE00275 -- Particle filter initialization (Tkm)

This is actually meant for cases where the ECU is replaced, so that the replacement ECU knows how many miles are on the DPF, but that's pretty much what you need here.

Note that the units (Tkm) are thousands of km. So for ~100,000 miles, you'd put in 160. For ~120,000 miles you'd put in 200. For ~200,000 miles you'd put in 320. If it were mine, I'd put in something a bit less than the actual mileage.

But no matter how you slice it, at almost 200,000 miles your DPF is pretty well done. Rather than replacing it, consider giving it a good cleaning..?

Meh. It's properly capitalized and punctuated, and even split into paragraphs. No harder to read than a book.

Thank you very much for that information, I do have some cleaner that I ordered and will give that a try also.
Once again much appreciated,
Matt

I was able to find this screen, however it is asking for a security access code, is that a common code or is that something I would have to find elsewhere? I have heard 27971 for particle filter initialization is a common code. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Is it better to not describe the situation that led to my question then? I could just say "car no work" if thats better

Perhaps a line space between paragraphs would help - Some white on the screen to help the black text stand out.

Sorry but that hurt my eyes !!

Wasn't my intention to post excessive information, for the last 11 years I have had to deal with people giving the most basic requests that have no substance, in which case I have to ask a million questions, so I figured I would try my best to avoid those questions having to be asked is all.

I am aware I can go a little overboard at times

The content is not the issue

Just some more white ! Blank lines between paragraphs would make it easier for me.

Have you tried a Chemical Clean of the DPF yet ?

And with what product ?

A few months back I did, just did about an hour ago also. "power motor care" foaming cleaner smells alot like oven cleaner. We will see how it goes this week

Not that easy.

When doing a DPF Clean you really do need to be monitoring Pressures and Temperatures, first to confirm the sensors are working and accurate. Then to confirm the thing is getting clean.

Then the Pressure Sensor pipes need to be checked and blown through (before and after) and confirmed to be intact.

And also free of leaks.

Trust me I know it's not as simple as spraying a cleaner in there and calling it done.

I have blown compressed air into those two hoses for the differential pressure sensor, I have checked it for leaks, more than once.

I have cleaned every sensor I can think of that I can access without dislocating my joints lol.

I have also been monitoring this vehicle since 50K when I bought it with oil tests at every oil change so you could say I am a little obsessed with making sure it functions properly. Probably unhealthy on my part but a good thing for the vehicle.

My main worry is why my oil ash volume reads 0 when I know that is pretty much impossible with the mileage.

I need you guys to trust me when I say I am not a dummy when it comes to figuring out how systems work, I just don't want to screw with any kind of settings or functions that I haven't learned about yet

That will / should change and become accurate in short time.

How sure are you that the Pressure sensor is good and accurate ?
I ordered a new sensor and replaced it. A few days later is when I found out that you are supposed to adapt these sensors.
Where from ?? I test them with a MityVAC.

While I adapted it correctly, I accidentally pressed "resetting of learned values of particulate filter."
Dont matter - Every one does that !!

It will re learn.

(if I raise the RPM it climbs to around 14-20 and then does not drop back to 9 when I return it to idle)

That there is your starting Point - That is just plain Wrong !!
