Hope you are well.
Have a long story here that I need some advice on.
Short Story - Theres no spark.
Long Story:
My Dads Amarok, had damaged piston rings and once the motor was opened, we discovered the timing guides were damaged as well. so we replaced all of that(chain, guides, tensioners, camshaft sensor, gaskets, rings etc). once everything was put back together, we found that there wasnt any spark, so sent the ECU in for testing, the first company said that there was an issue but would cost alot to repair with no guarantee, so took it to someone else, who said that there wasnt any issues with the ECU. Finally took it to a third person and they said there definitely is an issue with the ECU(apparently a few diodes were an issue). After his repair and also bringing in another ECU(which was immo'd off apparently - also from the same model) we still dont have any spark(he said he will test again and check what the issue is).
We also have an audi with the same engine, swapped over the coils and crank sensor to the audi and it starts, so we dont think theres an issue with the coils or crank sensor
We tested and traced wires for continuity, we found that on the coil there is power, but no power on the signal wire (purple wire).
Today, I read thread that said the hpfp could cause such an issue, but I am not sure if that would cause an issue with spark, we notice that the fuel line coming from the lpfp in the tank gives very little fuel to the hpfp, like small pulses. So I am not sure if that might be an issue(perhaps the low pressure/no fuel is causing the ecu to cut the spark as a form of protection).
i have checked the pressure on the pumps with vcds and they seems to be in line with the specs according to what I have read.
I have posted an autoscan below as well some advanced values taken today.
