I had a 2015 5C Beetle convertible in my workshop with a roof fault.
I searched the fault codes (65609,65610,65611,65612) and they lead me to a 2021 Ross Tech post "Rooftop Not Working New Beetle" with the same codes as me, but no resolution to the problem.
I subsequently have fixed the car and wanted to share my results in the hope it may help others, but the thread says "Not open for further replies"
What do you suggest?
The fault "mechanical failure of top switch left and right" was caused by the previous owner's removal of the emergency hood closing bolts. This pair of vertical caphead bolts is accessed with the roof open above the motor mechanisms left and right and mechanically disconnects the roof mechanism from the motor mechanism.
I didn't find this documented anywhere, although I imagine it must be part of the emergency roof closing procedure.
Perhaps someone can move this thread to a better place?
