I usually just poke around here in the background, eventually figure my stuff out. Not so much this time, so i am reaching out.

Wife’s 3.0L tdi q5 got the 300 km no start adblue wrench up. Has three codes up P20F4 reductant consumption too low, P20E8 pressure too low, P207F quality performance. Dealer fixed similar issue @ 35000 km. Can this be reset to get to a dealer 7 hrs away for warranty?

As far as stuff that dosen’t make sense is the reductant level. Before i topped it up with 5 litres it read 75.7%. So 5 litres top up made sense. Ad blue warning pops up weeks later but it was hardly driven so i top it off again and it takes 10-11 more litres and still reads 75.7%. I did the level reset and one other thing but it still read 75.7%. Drove it down to 170km left, warning still on after 90km drive. Totally Emptied the tank today and it went only to 22.7%, smacked the bottom of the pumpmodule and it went to 9% but then eventually crept back to 22.7%. I tried to get the pump module out but no luck. 80000 km on car and 95000 gr of reductant used. Litre and a bit per 1000 km’s used, wondering is that low consumption?

Thanks

Please post an Auto-Scan of this Q5 so we can see how it's equipped and details of the fault codes

You don't need to reset it... you just need to make the drive without shutting the engine off... so straight drive.
Also, you can probably reset it, but let's see that scan for starters.

Countdown when filled/ topped off was 300 km till no start, drove it down to 170 km left to no start.

P20F4 reductant consumption too low, P20E8 pressure too low, P207F quality performance.

I can get the actual scan, its on the other computer out in the shop.

Irrelevant.
As long as it starts (Read, you can be at 1km till no start), and you drive it to the dealer without shutting it off, you'll be fine.
Fixing or replacing components related to that system isn't cheap, and it's a dumb approach if you have warranty coverage as Audi is obligated to give you a loaner and to start throwing very expensive parts at the Q5 without it costing you anything.

Nearest dealer is 7 hours from me, so two day minimum trip. Can’t pull that off right now.

Well, there is a whole recent series (read, a bunch of model years) that had adblue issues and needed a new adblue tank due to a fault in either an integrated level sensor and/or dosing pump. The part on this side of the ocean (EU) is about €1500, add a bunch of labor, lets say 6 hours, which would make about €2400, pretty worst-case. Now, it seems like every time I see somebody on your side of the ocean mention a price for anything on an Audi, it is about double of what anything would cost here.

So I would at least consider making this the dealers +-$5000 problem before potentially DIY'ing it for $3000 with the risk of having to go to the dealer 3/4th of the way through anyway, who then will charge you as well since they cannot claim anything without a proper diagnostic report done before anything was done to the car.

I assume you have snow driving issues in NW Ontario? Reason it’s a 2 day drive?

Does the VW dieselgate warranty still apply? Ask your dealer if it covers towing if it puts you at the side of the road?

You have a unique situation, a 2 day drive to a dealer, if no warranty and thus no loaner and pay a dealer for the fix, I’d be doing doing a dpf delete. This could happen again in the future?

Deleting something that's still under warranty is a really bad approach..... especially when there's still 100k worth of mileage left on it.... it's obvious that the owner will run out of time before he runs out of kms, but if he's got a '16, he could still have close to 2 full years worth of coverage he'd be giving up.

I would agree but if you live in the bush in Northern Ontario where it takes you 2 days to drive 700kms , which may be the case here? You may end up on the side of the road with help a long ways off, and no heat.

I don’t live in the north, I just drove on Monday from Ottawa to Mahone Bay in 1 day, 1525kms. Never far from help and no loss of cel service for my trip. I’ll be 72 soon, Canada is a big place😁.

You’re from ON, so you know about the size of it.

That's not what I'm suggesting, but until we know what he's dealing with, we can't really make that call.

Trying to, can’t seem to be able to add anything into my reply except type words.
Open the text file of the scan with Notepad. Look for it in your Scans sub-folder. Copy & Paste the text of the scan.

not "two day drive"

I am speaking with people now for an options. breaking down and getting towed, not having a car for who knows how long? The options are a much better solution for us right now.

warranty i believe is up 2026

A Q5 diesel with Nokian winter tires has no issues in snow, turn off the traction control it will drive like a rally car in it.

That's a tiny edited section of an Auto-Scan, you need to Select All and post the complete UNEDITED Auto-Scan - preferably using the forum editor </> icon to add code tags.

Since you're using a HEX+CAN, I don't think you're using an iPad to scan your car. ;)
