I have been trying to figure this problem out for 5 days now and just now learned about the forum. I have the traction control light, the ABS light, and the BRAKE light. When I go to brake forward and reverse, the ABS constantly goes off, and it doesn't go away with time. I have replaced the brake booster vacuum sensor, performed a vacuum leak test (held a vacuum without problems), and tested how much vacuum the system is pulling at idle (nearly 30 inches of Mercury). While I waiting to get verified I was looking at other posts but all of them with this problem only got the lights in reverse so that made me even more confused. Thank you in advance.

I'm following up to the email I sent earlier here so you receive feedback from the forum community.

The newest version of that sensor appears to be 03C 906 051 F. Make sure that's the part number they sold you. I believe that's identical to the engine MAP sensor on many VW models and you may find the revision history here helpful:



Next, the brake booster hose that holds that sensor looks like it has one integral check valve. This looks like a Q5 part number so real photos are limited but this was the best (used) 8R1 611 931 L image I could locate:


I would not recommend purchasing a used one because that's a hard plastic line set, and it may be 10 years old depending on the donor, but the photo may be helpful if you haven't already tested the check valve or inspected it end to end for cracks.

I'm not entirely clear if engine vacuum supply side of that hose has yet another check valve but you may be able to determine this while checking the one closer to the sensor and booster.

I checked the check valve by the brake booster and it does work properly. The dealership sold me the outdated one for $285 so I am pissed about that. I ordered the updated one from FCPEURO and it's on its way for $22.89. Do you know of any TSBs that would help me get refunded for the sensor because this is the second time I have heard about the updated version?

@GrayWelds , you mentioned that the same Fault code is present with and without the sensor is plugged in. Hopefully things change when the new sensor arrives. If not, I think that's G294 and it appears to be wired directly to J623 (address 01-Engine) rather than 03-ABS.

If things aren't looking any better with the next sensor I'd check the wiring. We do not have a terminal assignment but I think this is the arrangement:

Terminal 1: br/gr should be ground from the ECM
Terminal 3: bl/gn should be the signal return to the ECM.
Terminal 4: ge/rt appears to be the 5V power supply from the ECM

I just got the F version of the sensor and put it on and nothing changed. I also checked the wiring and I have 5.72v yellow/red wire, 5v blue/green wire, and ground on brown/green wire. At this point I am very desperate and really just want my car to work properly and I need to get inspected by the 28th (it won't pass with ABS, BRAKE, and Trac. Con. lights on), anything can help.
