does my C?ID reflect the HEX-COM purchase; or the Software Only license purchase a couple of years earlier?
It's your customer number. The record in our internal database has everything from your original software-only purchase in March of 2001 to the lanyard we sent you in 2021.
The way the database works is that there are individual order records that are linked to a customer record. Your customer record has nine order records, the first one being the software-only purchase, which was originally our order number 915.
Up until the end of 2007, everything was a in a flat-file in an Excel Spreadsheet. Then we imported it all into a real SQL database. That process assigned the customer numbers and tried to link orders from the same customer to the newly created customer records. It looks like we had three orders from you by then, and I suspect your customer number was generated on the basis of the last one of those three rather than the first one.
In case you're wondering why
@tiguanselpremium has a lower customer number than you do, he also had an order back in the spreadsheet days, which was earlier than your last order in the spreadsheet days, which is why I think the conversion assigned him a lower customer number.
