We managed to retrofit the Kessey system into a MK6 TDI Golf...

We still have loads of error's in some of the modules.

System at this point only works with the key right next to the start button...

Curious if there are some wiring guro's maybe can look at the error's and tell us what they think might be wired up wrong to the ELV or anything else.

It was a mess of wires installing but after all trim went back on it looks good

Just went to the car and check those things. Car starts with remote close to start button only.

• Gateway has it checked, looks correct.
• Steering column lock checked, looks correct.
• Steering wheel, I’m not able to find anything for Kessy. Can you let me know what byte and bit is configuring Kessy?
• Cluster, looks fine too.

Two things that scream the most are ABS and Steering column lock. With ABS reporting not coded and showing all zeros in long coding I think ABS would need to get coded first, but I try several coding for ABS and it always comes back with error saying rejected out of range. Does anyone have any pointers how to code ABS for below code?

The second error that I'm concerned is below. Terminal 50, short to plus. I don't know what that is. I know Terminal 15 is ignition and Terminal 30 is hot all the time, but Terminal 50 I could not find any reference. Since we wire it manually I'm thinking a cable missing but checked it over several times and it looks ok

Say you did autoscan prior to this work...?! - From there you can take ABS coding.

Steering wheel module 16 has some bits and bytes where you could code ignition 15.
What i meant for cluster, was actually for immobliser, there are 3 bits you have to set.

Terminal 50 is power to starter.

As new label files are for live work only, it's hard to remember them.

We found Original VCDS Coding of ABS Module...

Does not seem to take still...not sure why...

Reached out to Dr Peter here on VCDS..think he is VCDS Employee to see if he has any input.

Maybe there is a different procedure to code this that we are not doing.

** Update 12/14/15**

I got lucky to get the original BCM from the KESSY donor car. My BCM was 1K0 937 086 but donors car BCM was 1K0 937 084. I thought I would need the donors BCM but we just needed the coding from it. We just connected the donor BCM copy the long coding and paste the long coding in my original BCM. This turned on KESSY antennas and start button started to work with out needing it to hold remote next to the start/stop button coil. I'm sure there is a single byte in long coding for BCM that does this but don't know where it's at so copying everything took care of it. There were some bytes with out any boxes to check but there was some binary code in coding.

Regarding the ABS module, issue was with VIN. We got cluster immo data swapped from donor car and the VIN was not matching to old ABS. I don't know the exact steps but by updating the correct VIN info the ABS coded and 5 out of 6 warning lights in dash went away!! I'm down to 1 warning remaining for ELV/Steering, but will have to check the wiring again.

I completely understand that. I enjoy challenges aswell, but parts has to be bought regardless wether its a challenge or not. :P

I managed to miss this thread when it was new but I'm glad to hear the VIN/MK60EC1 ABS coding problem is resolved. If you still have a ELV/Steering issue to sort don't hesitate to post another scan in the current condition.

We pretty much sorted everything out. I think we might have one code left in vcds but can't remember.

We installed the door handles, and sensors after that...everything works it's very cool.

I will be doing mine next with Kessey but my car is even older 2006...so should be fun to watch.

Not so fun to do but maybe fun to watch.

That is going to be lot of work as you have to make BCM work in 2006 and trow out CCM.

Already have bcm, keys, cluster coded ready to go.

Just need to do the wiring...and warmer weather but yeah it's always a lot of work.

Hi all, small update. Installed the door handles and it works awesome !! My wife likes it the most as it's her car and she kind of approved the project ;) Oh, I don't want to even talk how much it was $$ But from what I remembered it was about $1.2k but I also got all the parts for DynAudio. I found Golf R in salvage yard and got entire wiring Kessy, speakers, amp, cluster, modules etc.. I also got the black interior, but someone took the leather seats from under me, lol. Since it was in bulk I got a brake in price. After that I needed some small parts from the dealer but it was not that much. The DynAudio retrofit was pretty straight forward and walk in a park comparing to Kessy install, haha.
Again big big tanks to Marcin from PL. This would not be possible with out his assistance.
All is working fine right now, but I still have to wire the 5 wire starter relay somehow correctly. I have the original 4 wire starter relay and I get error in console saying to service steering lock. But that error does not stop any functionality just a light in cluster, lol. When it gets warmer, maybe in spring I will try to revisit that, but now it's freezing cold out to work on a car, lol

Below is the list if anyone asks, Those are the major components that I can remember. Maybe I missed something but it's a good list to start collecting parts. I also list Dealer part numbers and price. Of course that is way too much money but a good point of reference when you find something used.. Part numbers are for 2 door, 4 door might need longer latch cables.. Another thing that I notice is when I ordered "Steering Column Trim Lower" it come pre assembled with start button, start button cover and transponder read coil. I was shocked, but since this was one part I needed from dealer and it come pre assembled with so many parts so cheap I did not complain ;) I just used the pretty start button for my PC build.
