While we occasionally keep getting similar reports, the exact culprit is still unknown. We are investigating the issue, yet as we are unable to reproduce this, a fix may take a little longer. In the meanwhile, you can always perform the service reset manually via the (in the error message) mentioned adaptation channels.

As for the Italian version, Uwe mentioned this before but the system you are using was purchased from us in the US and is not licensed for the Italian version.

Where did you purchase it from? If you purchased it direct from RossTech then it's only licensed for the English version, but if you purchased it from the Italian distributor then it will be licensed for both English and Italian.

That said, we're still investigating the issue and have not been able to reliably reproduce this as of today.

We have not received similar reports like this recently so my advice is to firstly install this version:


Next, run this updater:

https://download.ross-tech.de/upd-beta

After doing so you will have the latest VCDS Beta 25.7.0.0 version combined with DS371.1 and Data Version 20250904 on the laptop. Those are our newest versions.

The final VCDS version step will require updating the CB in your HEX-V2 interface before testing on the car.


Please run, save and post the native plain txt Auto-Scan using that version.

If you receive the same error message when using the automated SRI Reset function please verify the Adaptation channels can be changed manually in address 17-Instruments. Those are:

Oil Change Service only:
[*IDE00342*] ESI: Resetting ESI
New value: Resetting​

Inspection service reset
[*IDE03351*] FIX: Distance covered since last mileage-dependent inspection
[*IDE03352*] FIX: Time since last time-dependent inspection
New Values should be set to 0 days and 0 km​

This Wiki page was made prior to UDS protocol Instrument cluster support for the SRI Reset function so the screen shots may be helpful:

As Dana mentioned, we've not gotten any similar reports recently. Based on my analysis so far, there seems to be some factor we're not able to reproduce, possibly related to the specific machine VCDS runs on, but that isn't certain at this point. I have made several attempts to reproduce this issue, both on a (similar) real car as well as a similar bench control module but either without success.

Unless we are able to reproduce this and/or see a specific indicator as to what causes this, we won't be able to provide a fix. That said, as Dana indicated you can always re-try with a newer version to see if any of the changes we make changes the outcome for you. Yes, this is trial and error but for the time being this is the best we can do. Sorry.
