Thanks for the newest scans. @Sebastian is looking into this but I wonder if the diagnostic firewall is causing issues? Do you get the same error message after clicking [SRI Reset] when the hood (bonnet) is open.

Right. Models built on the MLBevo and newer platforms warn the user, prompt them to open the hood, etc but the Golf 7 based cars phased in the diagnostic firewall at some point in 2020. They don't all have it and our existing firewall detection scheme isn't picking that up. We are in the process of VCDS side changes to alert the user about that on this platform.

We are still in the internal process of testing that Beta. The only new VCDS feature related to this car is a message box that instructs the user to open the hood.

Did the SRI reset when you tried again with the hood open with your current VCDS installation?


In the meanwhile this Data Version updater will get you the latest collection of VCDS Release label files:

If you update to that version before attempting SRI again just make sure to have the hood open first.
