Hi All, is VCDS able to change the default settings for Lane Assist and Audible speed warnings, to remember the last setting when starting the car.

Every single time I start the car I have to switch both off manually, and it's more of a distraction than a safety feature.

Wanting to buy VCDS but this is the main things I would want it for :-)

Any advice greatly appreciated, Thankyou

Hi. Hard to say. 2024 models have new challenges in that VW/Audi have locked down many adjustments with a new security protocol which we have been working to gain access. I suspect, if we had information from your car, we would learn that this security protocol would need to be present to make a change.

Based on my belief, if this is your only reason to buy VCDS, it might be best that you wait a bit while we continue our efforts to work this.

No, we cannot give an idea of when we will have such. Know we have spent a large amount of money and a lot of time and effort to gain said access. We are at the mercy of VAG.

Perhaps it would be best to find someone local to you with a genuine VCDS system to scan your car, see if any of the required tweaks are possible.

Thanks for your quick replies Bruce & Viking.
Understood that its hard to say if what I want to do is possible or locked down by VAG, I suspect the audible speed limit warning could well be as its legislation that forces them to put this on the car in the first place.
Frustrating thing is that its very distracting to have to switch these off every time I drive the car, especially as the settings typically take a minute or two to load up before driving away.
I guess if anyone could confirm that they have managed to sort at least one of these two things, it would be worth buying VCDS.

Assuming this will be the same for a 2024 Q7? I have VCDS, would any information from my car be helpful? Happy to do a scan if its of any use.

S5 and Q7 are quite different vehicles with different electronic systems, so that's not a good assumption.

So any news on the Q7? the lane assist and speed warning systems? they drive me nuts.

You need to post an Auto-Scan (in the Tweaks forum as you're already Verified), but if it's a 2024 MY then there's a chance the modules could be SFD "locked".

That’s cool, I’m 99.995% I am SFD locked. Just wondering if there is a way to stop the alarm for good going forward.

Thanks
