I just bought a 2025 GLI with a manual transmission. I am trying to do some basic tweaks I have done on my past VWs. If I try to just change the comfort blinker (I start with simple on a new vehicle), I get a message "The diagnostics firewall was ON when VCDS connected to this vehicle" "You should open the hood to perform advanced functions on this vehicle". I did open the hood after my first try at this (and left it open for a day) and retried the same modification, receiving the same "error" message. After the hood up message, I will also get a small box titled "error" with a code that says "unknown" and code # 0X00
I am hoping that this block is due to the newer systems not being incorporated into VCDS.
I will have later questions about some tweaks, but first I want to find out if there is something else I should be doing to get around this "firewall" issue, or do I need to wait until there is an VCDS update that communicates in such a way that this error does not occur?
