So, I have a 2012 Jetta Sportwagen TDI (non KESSY), and am trying to source a highline BCM for a xenon light retrofit. My current BCM (lowline) is 5K0 937 084 J.
I called VW, and they said the proper replacement part BCM for my car is 5K0 937 087AD Z3A.
I found a guy who's willing to sell me a 5K0 937 807G Z5Y that he used in his 2010 Sportwagen (non KESSY) for a xenon retrofit. Now, the VW dealer says that BCM is from an Eos, and wouldn't work with my car. Is that true? What are the general rules for highline BCM compatibility on my car?
P.S.: I found a post online about a Polo retrofit talking about how B, D, F, H, K, M, P, R, T are to be avoided because they use the Euro frequency for keys, and A, C, E, G, J, L, N are the ones to find. There's also something to do with KESSY BCMs not working with non KESSY cars, right?
Would love some clarity on the topic, as all the posts I can find are disconnected / scattered about the Internet. Thanks.
