Hello all Ive got an 03 TT Quattro 225 convertible. Crank no start condition. I have 2 scan files I can post. There is alot more to it but I am very new to this. Im really hoping someone sees what a pathetic situation I've gotten myself into and points me in the right direction.

Whats the back story has it been in a crash and repaired? I noted the DTC around doors opened due to crash signal

01366 - Opened Due to Crash Signal

Get yourself wiring diagrams and focus on ecm power relay. Learn from online videos what a relay does and how to test it and it’s associated wiring.

First of all, thank you for taking an interest. Most appreciative!
Now for some history. I bought this car back in 2018 or so. It had a reoccurring exhaust leak at header to turbo connection. It ran really well. there is a threaded male and female insert that kept coming lose. I started to change turbo and got busy with life. It got shelfed for a few years until recently. So before I could get it into a garage, it was exposed to water as the convertible top was sliced up. I imagine that could be significant. In August, I started putting it back together. I tried to start it and I got a crank/no start condition. i squirted some starter fluid in charge air pipe after intercooler. It started briefly and died. When I tried to start it again, I had nothing. no fire from coils\plugs, no injector pulse. I took the front end off into service mode again . I had thought that I was losing k line signal because of a bad fuel pump. I out a new one in yesterday. still same situation.

I changed out all relays. I checked them all first but swapped them anyways. Fuses 28,32, 34 and I think 43 only show 2-3 volts when I checked them all. Might be significant

Those voltages don’t tell me anything without seeing a diagram, which I have not. Based on backstory, I expect corrosion in plugs and terminals.

Please check all power management fuses. Then inspect all wiring for coils. Inspect wiring for chipping or flaking wire insulation. Once all that has been ruled out check for spark. Also does the tach move when cranking? Also charge battery.

I have wiring diagram and a fuse and relay mapping. I'm very familiar with what a relay is and how they work. I changed every single relay in the vehicle. The ECM power relay is by the shared slave cylinder against firewall. there is a #100 and socket 2 (j271) is Engine Control Module\Power Supply Relay

I have checked every fuse and replaced every relay. All coils are plugged in and wiring appears to be in good order.no, rpm is motionless. I will be pulling crank and cam position sensors to check impedance tomorrow. I will need to find specs first then I will get er done.

which voltages are you referring to? So when I turn key to on position, fuel pump does not prime. The fuel pump is brand new and operates when I hit it with power probe. On the harness by ODB connector, off to the side, there is a little pig tail. All of the K-line leads are there. There is no shorts to ground to any modules in K-line bus.

If tach does not move then there is no spark present. Figure out why no spark is present and you will solve your issue. Either failed cam and or crank sensor, wiring issue or issue with power supply to ecm.

I am not getting that feeling that testing is done right. Testing is not parts swapping.

Where is the feed for the ecm relay coil coming from, point location, plug and terminal, where is the ground for the ecm relay coming from, point location, plug, terminal, as applicable.

Answering to the point could lead you to a faster fix.

There is 2 power supply relays for ecm and a separate fuel pump relay. If either one of th ecm relays does not latch neither will the fuel pump relay. You need to go back to check the basic and relays.

I agree with most everything you said. I know what the problem is. What I dont know is where the data is pointing to or the diagnostic procedure for finding my open or shorted circuit. Im 62. I grew up in an era of fuel, air and spark. I have pretty decent manual dexterity and I'd like to hope, a fair amount of common sense. I hope (fingers crossed). Wiring or electrical situations have not been my strong point. Its high time I learn the art of diagnostics now though. So yes, when I " Figure out why no spark is present and you will solve your issue." I will be eating pumpkin pie with whipped cream!

I think you might be on to something I never would have considered. I will dig around into the module

Thank you! I am going to dig into this. Also, I am going to dig into this address 35. Where that crash signal came from. Im wondering if there may be water damage inside this module.

Don’t put effort in that airbag for now. This is 2003 car, not 2025.
