From the ignition key, Has anyone removed the Security Chip glued to the printed circuit board and placed it on another Original FOB printed circuit board to create a fictional ignition key. Attached find a picture of the printed circuit board (PCB) from a disassembled original FOB. I believe the long narrow chip furthest to the left, on the narrowest part of the PCB board is the security chip.

Soot,

That's why I'm here, the dealer can't get me a new key, the Cassie is not manufactured anymore. Do you have anything constructive to add?

Sheldon, this problem started at a locksmiths garage. If I could buy a brand new key from him I would. In fact the dealer that I contacted did not think he could source the key.

Dana, here is the image of the other PC board from the other key that VCDS validates as Adaptable. As you can see, the components are identical, and therefore it looks no different than the other PCB. Both these keys are genuine Volkswagen keys. Neither of them appears to have been tampered with.

Thanks for the reply. The chip that I am pointing to doesn't appear to be soldered (no legs) to the PCB, but rather glued. Would they pick up supply coil be attached this way?

If it is the multi-leg chip that you suggested, that's beyond my capability to remove.
