It came with just one original switchblade key remote and the truck has keyless access and keyless pushbutton start which work fine. I bought a new aftermarket key, cut the blade and cloned the immobilizer so I can lock and unlock it, and it will start. If that's all it can do, I'll live with it as it's only a spare in case I lost the main one. However, I want to get the remote to function, and if possible, the keyless access and start to work as well. Is this something I can do with Vagcom, and if so, where to start?

I read the immobilizer page that talks about pin codes, http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Immobilizer but the immobilizer part is taken care of. How do I get the remote functions working?

If it has keyless, that's all matched learned when you match a proper factory key.

How exactly did you "clone the immobilizer"?

I used an Xhorse Mini Key Tool and their Superchip,

If I don't use keyless functions, can I program remote functions? Had no problem doing that for a 2016 Jetta but it has key start.

Would this video apply to getting the remote functions to work?

I don't think so, because with a Kessy, I believe they all use the communication between the car and the key fob. The exception is the old-school passive reader/transponder that allows the car to start with the key in the ignition lock.

I don't think so. That example from a 1J0 (Mk.3) CCM. No Kessy in those cars! ;)
