Hi All,
Working on a 2011 Jetta SE 2.5L sedan w/manual transmission.
Would someone please tell me which FSM to look at, and where in the FSM, that I can find the volt values for various wires?
I'm working on the ABS electrical system.
Thanks...

Yes, Factory Service Manual
Thanks for the erwin link.
I refuse to pay those c*cks*ckers for info that should be provided for free (by law).
I downloaded some pdf's that have all the relevant info in them (from Russia!).
But I can't find the pdf for DIAGNOSTICS/TROUBLESHOOTING.
I have Wiring diagrams, Component locations & pin-outs, and basic mechanical repair info (like torque values!).
But I can't find where the VOLTAGES, RESISTANCES and other ELECTRICAL values are in any of the manuals.
That's all the 'secret FU info' that we need to do the diagnostics & repairs.

A Masters Degree in Automotive Technology is what I did to get achieve that !!

Do you have the Time, Money, Mindset, Ability to do that ??

Uwe,
European law far as I know.
I hear that Ford and Honda are really bad about giving up their secrets in Europe.

Sheldon,
I don't have the time for it.
I can't justify it either, since it's not my 'living'.
Besides that, it's more for 'non-mechanical' people, and I'm a 'mechanical' person.
That's the curse of computers.
They have removed the 'mechanic' from mechanical.
It's all about CONTROL OF THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION AND THE MEANS OF DISTRIBUTION by the globalist elite devils.
IOW, it's political.

So where are the diagnostics manuals for these systems?

It may not matter anyway, b/c I got 12v with KOEO @ LR wheel speed sensor lines.
And I got 0v from the new sensor when I spun the hub.
Only thing I don't know how to do is test the reluctor ring itself, that's mounted to the back of the hub.
How do I check the magnet on that reluctor ring?

I doubt it, but even if so, I don't see how it would apply to us in the USA.

You realize that a wheel speed sensor produces pulses, not voltage, right? A volt meter is not the right tool to check pulses with.

With a piece of magnet viewing film.

Speaking as a European (I still think of myself as one despite Brexit) AFAIK no auto maker makes repair information free in Europe, I've always had to pay for repair manuals whatever car I've owned (Vauxhall/GM, Toyota, Renault, Citroen, Audi, Skoda, ...)

Ya know, I totally forgot about that!
I needed to do the AC instead of DC function on the DVM.
Shows you how often I do these tests.

Magnet film!
I'll have to get some.

And what do you measure with DVM, if the signal would float as small mA pulses on the 12V supply line?

No free but not expensive - Absolute value for money !! I add £25 to each invoice and try to make a profit from it !!

Other than Ferrari and Maserati - they are 300 Euro for 24 hours - Again that is cheap if you get the 300 from the owner in advance !! - Well it is Free

Throw the DVM in the bin !! Useless for these cars !!

You wont be testing Wheel Speed Sensors with it. It is difficult with a scope !!

Hmm...well, according to people on other forums, there is a law requires disclosure.

Requiring disclosure is not the same as requiring disclosure for free. Yes, they're required to make repair information available. No, they're not required to just give it away; they're allowed to charge a "reasonable fee" for it. No, there is no specified value for what a "reasonable fee" is, that has to be litigated on a per-case basis if you think they are charging too much.

It's all about CONTROL OF THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION AND THE MEANS OF DISTRIBUTION by the globalist elite devils.
IOW, it's political.
... and now we know why you want it for free. Your political preferences are showing.

Hey davisev5225, looks like you're 'beating the drum' for the evil corporations who've destroyed the entire world.
I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum.
I 'beat the drum' for those of us who work for a living instead of leeching off those of us who do all the work.

I thought it was like any hall-effect sensor.
You can use the AC voltage on a DVM to read the signal.

Eggs-actly!

~25 years ago, a service manual for a particular model of VW or Audi from Bentley Publishers (VAG's official outlet for the NAR market back then) cost $75-$150. These days a one-day subscription to erWin, which is long enough to download everything for a particular car several cars costs $35. Taking inflation into account, today's cost is 10-20% of the cost back then.
