Hi i have been looking at a 2017 VW Tiguan that has a no start issue.
Symptoms are as follows.
You unlock the vehicle with the remote and vehicle wakes up. you hop in the vehicle and shut the door and the electronic steering lock starts to activate to try and release.
After a sequence of attempts and stops and a yellow symbol of the steering wheel appears with a prompt to move the steering wheel. If the push start button the same symptoms occur and vehicle will not crank or get ignition lights.
I have tested the 4 pin connector at the Start/stop button and get the following
Terminal 1 = A Good earth as it should
Terminal 2 (KL58) Is only showing 9.89v when button is pressed to start vehicle. (Test was done with Multimeter) by back probing either terminal 3 or 4 (signal wires) and terminal 2. further more when i disconnect the switch plug when this happening the voltage drops to 1.66v for a timed period of 30 seconds the drops to 0.v. I have also check this pin to body earth and get no resistance.
Terminal 3 = A good 12.36v Signal Wire
Terminal 4 = A good 12.36v Signal Wire
My thoughts is terminal 2 could be an issue. Not sure though and would this be a feed from the start button or from the J518- entry and Start authorisation control unit. Ive tried look for what KL58 means but have had no luck. Terminal 2 goes into the KESSY Module..
If someone could share there thoughts on this that would be appreciated.
kind Regard
