From what i'm reading this is a common fault. I've found this company called ECU testing in England that rebuilds the machtronic or controller. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks.

Funny you're assumming i know nothing. Just bought the car. Yes dpf is shot, that can be changed, i won't tell you what i'll be doing about that. lol. Yes car starts and runs, but the trans hangs and decides for itself what it wants to do. So i was looking for DSG dicussion, that's why i posted that way. I'm not completely new to everything just because i just posted for the 1st time here.

Oh and yes its my car now and will be serviced properly once i get things sorted. Any more advice you'd like to offer that I didn't really request?

YES !!

You got to try for yourself but repairing a DSG Mech is Hit and Miss - You go have that conversation with that company and discuss any warranty they give !!

As for your nonsense about only asking about the DSG and not the Engine then your approach at best is foolish.

The DSG - Any Auto really is built and tested whilst connected to a trouble free engine - FACT !!

An engine with faults, maybe in limp home will also communicate with the Auto Box and can cause it to do weird stuff.

I have seen a fulty Alternator cause Havoc in the Auto Box.



So if you are here for guidance then here it is in abundance !!


However if you think your knowledge is at a level where you can pick and choose what you think is Priority then welcome to the forum .. Next time myself or @SaVAGeSoot need help we will ask you for advice.

Thanks for the constructive response. I bought the car knowing it had issues. I'm debating a manual swap and just trying to get a feel for whether or not its worth the effort to mess with the dsg. Supposedly the company that repairs the mechatronic unit offers a lifetime warranty. So i was curious if anyone has experience with the company.

I have a lot of maintenance to complete on the car, timing, fluids, brakes, fuel filter etc. I've had the same car before but was maintained and didn't have any of the issues, even had a good dpf at 100k miles. So, with this one, I'll be getting to know the car a bit more thoroughly. I bought it as a project car, so here i am trying to pick up any information i can from what the VCDS recorded and other's experience.

Again, because you don't know the whole situation you shouldn't just assume a person is an idiot or foolish. I understand that electronics talk to each other in this world of sensors and ecus. I'll keep looking for anyone with lots of dsg experience.

Or what if I assume the same because you're not answering questions that could be relevant to your intermittent faults due to the fact that you're not even reading your scan results?

What does RT or VCDS have to do with some DSG company on the other side of the pond?

Can confirm.... I was able to bring my fubared DPF back into full function from 51g accumulation in my '10 CJAA, and it was a 6spd stick!

I've found this company called ECU testing in England that rebuilds the machtronic or controller. Anyone have experience with this?

Yes, and with him… he is local to us and notorious in the Nottingham/Derby area, I did an expert court report for one of his victims.

This fault is extremely common with the DQ200 but not so with the DQ250. We did have one last year in an S3 which had been remapped to stupid torque and the output shaft end bearing exploded, throwing shrapnel throughout the transmission, mechatronic and clutch pack, destroying everything. If it is just a weak oil pump, these can be replaced after removing the end cover, part number 02E 315 105 B including seal.

The oil pump is above and to the left of the blown bearing location

oh that won't fix it? damn. lol. I get that the dpf is cracked and needs replacement. either pay for the parts and install and wait for it to crack again, or delete. I get the deal. I'm honestly just considering how to save this car. The previous owner just drove it and maybe changed the oil. I'm trying to dig back through any record i can pull on the car. I'm pretty sure the dsg had never been serviced, so i was inquiring about the intermittent codes and happened to come across those guys that claim a fix, so i threw that in. Anyways, I'll research more. I missed the warranty on the dpf by 10 months which stinks.

Here in the Uk Deleting DPF, AdBlue and EGR is rife - seems everyone is at it !!

I hear in the US it is a different story with not nice consequences !!
