Active blind spot detection not working after installing new mirror on passenger side.

Good day everyone

I recently purchased a 2018 RHD MK7.5 VW Golf R and this is my first post after the purchase of VCDS which I got delivered last week. I am still in the process of learning the immense amount of things that VCDS is capable of doing, only if I had a little more time .
But, I would like some help with something. I would really appreciate it if someone can provide me with a helping hand in sorting this out.

I had to replace the left side passenger mirror assembly and my mirror on my car. I purchased the new part using the VIN number and the part was shipped to me by LLLParts from Lithuania. I went ahead and installed both the parts and everything (auto fold/unfold on lock/unlock, indicators, mirror positioning motor etc.) works fine. But, I am not able to get my active blind spot detection to work. Before the new mirror was installed, I had to drive around with just my right side mirror because I was waiting for the parts to arrive. The blind spot was working on the right side mirror then. But, after the install, it does not work on both the mirrors.

Then, I discovered on the ICE system that, the checkbox for Blind Spot Detection was unticked. I selected that option but, it would not come one and the instrument cluster gave me a warning ("Error: Rear Traffic Alert/Blind Spot Monitor"). When I installed the mirror, I did connect the two pin connector with two wires for active blind spot (a red/green wire and a brown/green wire) but I am not sure if I connected it the other way round because, I am cannot recall how it was originally connected on the OEM mirror. Can anyone shine some light into this issue that I am having?

Thank you for the quick reply. I only got the mirror assembly and the mirror installed yesterday and only yesterday evening did I realise that it was not working. The scan is clean when there are no errors on the cluster but, I have not done a VCDS scan yet with the error/alert on the instrument cluster. I will do a scan in the next hour or so and will update this post. Hopefully something can be figured out.

I will need to check again if the connector is all the way in into the blind spot connector. I had it installed with the help of a mechanic and he was the one who connected it up. So, if it is not connected properly, then, should I check both the connectors (the one on the actual mirror and the other one behind the door panel?

There’s no connection for the bsd behind door panel. The mirror connector goes to the door connector directly and from there to BSD module behind the rear bumper.

The connection is in the mirror and from there it goes directly to the door wiring harness that goes from door to frame of the car. That black rubber grommet between door and frame you see when you open the door. From the car frame side connector the wire goes directly to the BSD module. From driver mirror to driver side module behind the rear bumper and from passenger side to passenger side master module behind the rear bumper

I am thinking of first verifying the connection at the back of the mirror, then the connection on the frame side connector. From the online pics that I have seen, these pins cannot be connected in reverse and only go one way but I might be wrong.

I am going to try and remove the mirror over the weekend and verify of those two connections and I will give you an update. I appreciate your assistance.

If the issue only started after whatever fix was performed, re-trace anything that was touched and validate that nothing was fuqd

I would follow what @Kushdaiin already wrote. Check the that the pins on the mirror connector are correct way around. Then check inside the rubber grommet going from door to frame. VW cars a infamous in destroying and shorting the wiring inside the grommet.

If you have any skills in electronics, you can easily measure the pins from the connector you connect to the mirror that which one is ground and which one is live.
