The title says it all. I downloaded the appropriate latest version of Java. The appropriate version of VCDS. I have previously had it run on my old computers.

My computer is a Mac mini M2 running macOS Sonoma.
Hex-Net HN1000265

So what's going on? I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Thank you,

James

Mac OS. ;)

The old Java utility is for all intents and purposes deprecated at this point. However, since you're well past the old "hump" on firmware levels, you should be able to update the HEX-NET natively using VCDS-Mobile. Can you get to it with a browser in infrastructure mode?

Hi Uwe, thank you for responding.

I update the firmware at least once a year. I tried to update it via VCDS app, but it wouldn't connect in AP mode )I think, I get confused which is which). It could not find the WiFi network to log into when I tried to switch modes. It had a long list of other old networks, but never brought up the one I'm on. (Wasn't that set up on the Java app?).

My older Mac is available, would Java work on that? I think it's running El Capitan.

I do have a Windows laptop running Win10, because I was forced to buy it for something else. Is there something I can do on Windows that I can't do with my Mac?

Up until now I was using the Hex-Net on my 2007 Audi A4 Avant. It's been worth every penny and more. However, I now also have a 2020 Q5 and it seems like it needs some upgrades to work with that car.

If it were me, I would install VCDS on that windows 10 pc, then you can update the interface with VCIConfig much more easily, and if you encounter something that doesn't work through mobile you can use full VCDS on that PC.
