Airbag module replacement/retrofit

Is there a substitute module for the Airbag 8N0 959 655 D? I'm having trouble locating one and mine has crash data stored and memory error 65535. There are some available on fleabay, but last letter is different. Will my 06 TT MK1 1.8L accept it?

I can't right now. Removed the gauge pod to get repaired and don't want to reconnect the battery without it.
I can email you a copy of the printout I have.

If you've previously scanned the car VCDS made a backup copy of the scan in "C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Scans"

Not only does the part number have to be the same (including the suffix letter) but also there will be printed on the module itself a so-called "color code" (which the module does not report via diagnostics so you have to inspect it visually) and this MUST match as well.

So is there a substitute? No is what I would say.

Probably not on this one. Airbag modules in Mk1 TT cars did didn't use "Index Coding".

As for exactly what will work, I suggest consulting with a dealer or proper parts catalog to see if there have been any superseding part numbers and suggest you stay within those bounds.

that same website I linked earlier shows that 8N0 959 655 D has not been superseded so I would suggest to stick with that !!
