Hello all...

I have the Hex-v2, and I am trying to do an autoscan but when I try to set the chassis type using the seventh and eights digits of my VIN (in this case 1J) auto scan cannot connect to the controller. Wha am I doing wrong?

Is the ignition on? Engine doesn't need to be running, but the various control modules in the car need to be powered up.

What are the exact results when you do [Options] -> [Test] with everything connected and the ignition on?

Uwe...

The ignition was on. I went into auto scan, put in "1j" in the search window which pulled up the Chassis Type: 1J - VW Golf/Bora IV (1998 > 2006). pressed "Start" and the program quickly cycled through.
The results I get are as follows:

Chassis Type: 1J - VW Golf/Bora IV (1998 > 2006)
Scan: 01 02 03 08 15 16 17 19 22 29 35 36 37 39 46 47 55 56 57 75 76
End......(Elapsed Time: 00:23, VBatt start/end 12.2V/12.2V)

Your thoughts?

OK, so the K-line isn't shorted to either +12V or GND. The next thing I'd check is continuity of the K-line from pin 7 of the diagnostic socket to the corresponding pin (check wiring diagrams) on one or more of the control modules that you know are in this car, e.g. the Instrument Cluster, the ABS, or the Airbag module.

Looks like [Restore Defaults] on the [Options] screen resolved the issue.
