Lost key

I lost the key to my 2008 Audi a3. Had a locksmith come out to make new key. He couldn’t pull the pin so he took the ecu back to his shop to and turned off the immobilizer. I put the ecu back in the car and now got code p3054 jammed or electrical malfunction and the car won’t crank. I also still have the safe light on dash but he is saying that is normal. Can anyone give me any advice on this? Thank you in advance for any help.

When asking for assistance, you need to post a complete Auto-Scan. Unsure what you mean by a "safe light"... can you post a photo?

And I would call that guy back and have him undo whatever tweaking he did to the ECM.

Safe light meaning the odometer lcd is showing " SAFE" because the key is not added to the dash or ecu. Immo off is the worst solution because with immo off you cannot adapt keys to existing immobilizer system. As much as I hate to say it you need to find a competent locksmith. Also if you have the chance please check if the windows in the vehicle still work. Report back.

I suspect immo off was done incorrectly. Not to mention this vehicle is easy to do if you have the right tools. Pull CS and Pin from ecm or cluster. Make dealer key and program. It's not hard if you know what your doing and have the tools to do it.

Yours dont know what He do.

There is No " pull the Pin " method to do at this Type of car

Windows will not go down because immobilizer is turned off in the ecm.

LOL that they do. There is a pin present in that system but its useless, however many locksmiths always think they know better. In this vehicle write CS to key to make dealer key or purchase oem key and have it programmed. It's not hard.

Did car start and run for 2-3 seconds before he did anything to ECU?
The Dtc you getting could be also bad starter.

BTW , if you send me cluster and key I can make it work. For more info send me message.

Sorry for taking so long for reply. I just got home. I saved the scan but now nothing is coming up just a bunch of lines. I will rescan tomorrow and send. The lock smith said he will be out tomorrow to reprogram my original file back on the ecu. Says he got the pin and sku too. So we will see. I will send a scan tomorrow when I get back to the car

I agree and it looks like fuses are blown, missing or in wrong positions.

@Scottarossjr , as long as you don't see any fresh rodent damage or activity I would put my focus on the starter circuit in addition to the steering rack.

Also, let us know:

• Did it crank, start and run before it stalled out after the new key was made and before he did anything to the ECM? That will help determine if the starter DTCs are related to the ECM modifications versus a different problem.
• Does it crank at all right now?

Idk I have seen similar fault when ecm was fucked with like immo was butchered.

The Dtc you getting could be also bad starter.

Sorry for taking so long for reply. I just got home. I saved the scan but now nothing is coming up just a bunch of lines. I will rescan tomorrow and send. The lock smith said he will be out tomorrow to reprogram my original file back on the ecu. Says he got the pin and sku too. So we will see. I will send a scan tomorrow when I get back to the car

I’m unsure but it did start and run before I lost the key. There’s no blown fuses. I checked all of them and I Changed the starter. You can here the relay click but that’s it

OK, if the car had power steering and you didn't have any starter issues previously I would post another scan because the last one has the bottom cut off. The voltages at the end of the scan may be the clue we need if terminal 15 doesn't have switched power to it.

In the meanwhile determine if this car has E-Box low versus E-Box high. That's the under hood panel and it will have positions for 2 possible relays when Low. The High box has positions for 4 possible relays. I believe it will be the Low box and in that case fuse SB28 (40 Amp) may be missing or moved to the wrong slot. Those will be marked with the letter F so you are looking for F28 on the plastic panel.

If you determine this is the Low box and find that fuse to be blown or missing it would kill the high amp power to Power Supply Relay 2 (J681) and a bunch of fuses inside the car would lack power. That appears to be the common link between the starter relay circuit and steering rack.
