Derek, you were spot on with your experience, it was a loose connection at the rear of the socket preventing me from reading the car. Also, if you can get to the back of the socket, try pushing it towards the VCDS interface as it's plugged in in case it's pushing away slightly. I've just had a customer on the phone with a 2019 Caddy where that happened.
Best regards
Derek
Finally managed to get back onto the controllers and have done a couple of checks though all the current settings and found that the U111200 code being thrown up is a result of only having the cruise control enabled in the 01 engine controller and not also in the 09 central electronics controller.
I uncoded the cruise in 01 controller and all faults disappeared, so definitely pointing to something adrift with the cruise installation.
I have subsequently recoded cruise but this time enabling in both 01 and 09 controllers and I now have the following fault appear

Doing a few more web searches against the new error code P0568, I've come across a link to another VCDS page detailing the possible causes of P0568 as below

16952/P0568/001384 - Cruise Control Switch (E45): Implausible Signal
Possible Symptoms
- Cruise Control not working
Possible Causes
- Signal Wire from Steering Column Control Module (J527) OR Central Electronics Control Module (J519) to Engine Control Module faulty
- Steering Column Control Module (J527) Coding faulty
- Cruise Control Switch (E45) faulty
Possible Solutions
- Check Signal Wire from Steering Column Control Module (J527) OR Central Electronics Control Module (J519) to Engine Control Module
- Check Steering Column Control Module (J527) Coding
- Check Cruise Control Switch (E45)
Special Notes
- In most recent Models the Cruise Control is part of the Steering Column Control Module (J527) while in earlier ones it is Part of the Central Electronics Control Module (J519). Very early ones run the Wiring directly from the Stalk/Switch to the Engine Control Module. If in doubt, check the Wiring Diagram for Details.
- When retrofitting Cruise Control, the Signal Wire from the Steering Column Control Module (J527) OR Central Electronics Control Module (J519) to the Engine Control Module is often not being added.
Can I please sense check the final statement I've highlighted above?
I've added control wires into the BCM T73B plug and the ECU T94 plug at pin 45 - does the statement above require signal wires to both??
Something I noticed whilst scanning the car last night was that VCDS sees the car as a 2014 model variant, something PetrolDave eluded to earlier in the thread
I think "E" is a 2014 VIN: TMBFM25J0E3008424Have you checked the model year of your Fabia?, yes I know it's a 13 plate but it could be a 14 model year - check the model year letter in the VIN.
Seems you've been using VCDS, OBDeleven and Carista so it's going to be harder to untangle what's happening I reckon.
If the car is a 2014 variant, does this have a consequence on the loom configuration required for the cruise to work correctly?
