I sold my Golf and bought a new (well, used) Seat Leon, which is essentially a Golf 8

AUTOSCAN

I have a couple questions:

1) no matter how many times I try to clear DTCs, unit 5F always says "Malfunction" in the Gateway list, but when I enter the 5F module, there are no errors. why?
2) I see modules C002 C003 in the Gateway list but they don't show up in the autoscan. why?

I don't know much about this MQBEvo platform. yet...

Do you want to try Beta 24.9.1?

You can install it right away, next to the Release version. They don't bother each other.

Welcome to Mk.8 software. Both 19-CAN Gateway and 5F-Info. Electr. are locked down with SFD in your car.

That seems to be a thing in Mk.8 derived cars. I'm not sure why VCDS doesn't try those. My guess is they are phantom entries like some of extra read door addresses or even 46 in some of the cars where that functionality is all in 09. @Eric can probably knows tell us exactly why.

@Uwe

for 1), I hear you but it doesn't make much sense. I know about SFD. when I got the car, there were errors ALL around, because the dealer is not VAG so they didn't reset shit. if I cannot clear 5F from this "malfunction", why could I clear everything else, including 09 and 19 which have SFD for sure?

It's actually the opposite. C002 and C003 are addresses that *can* be in mk8 cars, but aren't listed in the normal installation list. So VCDS will scan for them but won't report them as missing if they're not present. They're typically MEB onboard software "stuff".

I have tried to clear all DTCs from the Autoscan window, then I tried by entering module 5F. both at different times.

will try the one you suggest, thanks.
