I have a 12 Jetta 2.0 SOHC and I'm getting some o2 sensor codes no activity and resistance to high. How would I test the wiring to the o2 sensor to confirm it isn't a wiring issue before I put a new sensor in? I checked the fuses already and the o2 sensor is a 4 wire sensor.

000320 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S2
P0140 - 000 - No Activity

004372 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor; B1 S2
P1114 - 000 - Internal Resistance too High

Quite clear those fault codes !!

This is referring to S2 - So the one after the catalyst.

I would guess that if the ECU can see "deep" enough into that sensor to establish "Internal Resistance" and to an extent "No Activity" then very unlikely to be a wiring or any other type of fault.

Try this

Unplug the sensor > Leave it unplugged > Clear all Codes > Run the Engine > Check for new Codes !

Would it not be magical if you then got an "Open Circuit" fault code ? For sure "Internal Resistance" and "No Activity" should be long gone ??

At that mileage, it's highly likely your O2 sensor is cooked. They usually only last ~50k miles (~80k km) before dying the slow dedeath.i
I ordered a new bosch give it a try tomororw

Try this

Unplug the sensor > Leave it unplugged > Clear all Codes > Run the Engine > Check for new Codes !

Would it not be magical if you then got an "Open Circuit" fault code ? For sure "Internal Resistance" and "No Activity" should be long gone ??

I just did that and your correct it does get an open circuit code. So that means the new bosch sensor is no good? The new sensor has 10.7 ohms between pin 1 and 2 and the voltage on pin 1 car side harness is 12.78v which goes to one of the white heater wires

Where'd you source it from? Lots of parts that say "Bosch" are actually counterfeit. The resistance you measured is within spec, but that's not necessarily conclusive...

Also, time to do continuity checks from the sensor connector back to the ECU harness. If they all test good, do it a second time while wiggling the harness in various points all the way through its run. You might have a pinched or broken wire somewhere.

It came from ecs so I'd assume it'd be a genuine bosch. Should I try getting another one. Would you know which wires I'd test for continuity?

ECS isn't the best option, FCP Euro or Europa Parts are much better. That said, don't get another one yet, focus on testing the wiring as previously mentioned. You need to test all (4) wires while the ignition is off (having 12V on it while trying to continuity test can cause issues depending on how your meter is constructed). If you don't know where they go, then getting the wiring diagram <--- clickable link will help.

Get a genuine Sensor - Period

Clearly not !!

Even if the Sensor came from the Mistress of the Chairman and CEO of VAG - It is faulty !!!

Not necessarily, but we won't know until the wiring has been tested.

With or without current flow, at what temp ??

Offering False Hope ?

Not false hope at all, working through the diagnostic process. It was a "safe" option to load the parts cannon in this case since O2 sensors like to fail at higher mileages, but since the same errors continue after replacing it, it's time to do the harder work. ECS probably provided a genuine sensor, but I can't guarantee that fact. Better to eliminate the other variables before loading the parts cannon a second time.

Can you copy and paste that code please ?

I would have expected 2 codes at least ?
