Audi A4 TCM Problems

Hi I have an Audi A4 1.8t 2003 convertible
FWD. Recently had to swap out the TCM with a used unit with a matching 01j927156ff.
The car starts,but gear selection flashing on
Dash! Was informed it would be plug and play
But guess this not the case. I was then told I would need
Vin from donor module, which I don't have!
Please advise on what I need to do.

For us to help you need to post an Auto-Scan so we can see details of the fault codes and how your A4 is equipped.

As I've said may time here a scan is NOT just about codes, it's other very important job is to tell us how a vehicle is configured (VAG make lots of running changes!).

So as Uwe says without a scan we cannot help.
