I have my interface connected to my phones AP so it has internet. Trying to update the ASAM it starts off showing 20min remaining then suddenly 4min but progress bar is at 40% and 1kb all the time. After the 4min it jumped back to 10min but progress bar is not moving. The interface has 2 green lecs and one blinking green led while it's doing this. I didn't time it but it's been stuck at 40% and 1kb for prolly 30min now. Yesterday I gave in after maybe 10-15min with no movement.

I updated my interface from my PC yesterday to see if that would cure the issue but it doesn't change. I se a lot of ASAM issue threads but I didn't find a solution to my problem among them.

Not sure if it's related but when using the interface it's painfully slow as well. Most clicks takes 4-5 seconds but I don't know if it's normal. The pc program seems snappier and it works without issues.

Try to clear the "cache" of the applications on the phone.

There were similar topics here, maybe "Clear data" will help. Anyway, we'll ask @Shaun about this.

Most clicks should not take 4-5 seconds, that sounds like maybe there is a lot of congestion in your wifi environment or the signal strength is bad?
You might want to try connecting the interface to a PC and updating with VCIConfig to download the asam data, this can remove your phone and wifi from the equation. Once it's updated you can go back to your phone and see if it works now. You also might want to switch your interface to the beta channel in the [Advanced] tab of VCIConfig before doing this, the dataset there has better asam coverage.

I tried both on my home network and in the car far away from houses/wifi signals with the same result. Wifi coverage seems to be good also as I can walk pretty far away from the car and still have contact with the interface.

I updated with the vagcom software trough the option menu but I can give it a go with VCIConfig. I'm using it on a 2011 transporter so I would guess it's only old modules?

I did try this after reading some other threads but it didn't change anything. Will follow the advice above with doing it from VCIConfig and see if it helps. Thanks

Seems I was just confused with the names of all the tools.. I updated trough VCIConfig yesterday but I did access it from vagcom tool ^^ I deleted rod data/cache from phone and it says now that "updated rod data needed" and I guess that's expected. It updated rod yesterday when i did it.. I noticed that the files showing in the popup window all had old dates (see link to photo below) and after VCI config is done successfully updating it sas "getvin timeout" below. I'll change to beta channel now and retry from my phone as soon as I can get to my car but it's an old car (2011) so it would be strange if it needed beta updates?

Current versions:
CB: 0.4643
FW: 1.71
CFB 1.13
BL: 0.28
DS: 30000060

If you switch to the beta channel you will need to repeat this update again, you just downloaded the release channel rods. But go ahead and see how that works, on this year vehicle I doubt the beta has any better coverage. If you cleared the rod data, you may need to repeat this update again after autoscanning the vehicle.
