My car recently decided to throw an 01276 fault code for the ABS hydraulic pump (V64).

From what I've read, putting in a new pump/module requires you to input the coding of the old module if I purchase one second-hand.

So rather than spending $2500+ for a brand new one from the dealership, I've found a couple with the matching part number on ebay that I would rather try out as I've had some people tell me they've done the same and they worked fine.

Since the seller's won't have the proper coding pulled from those modules they're selling off the cars, how do I go about coding that in when it gets installed in my vehicle exactly?

Thank you for any and all help...!

First step: Grab/save a current Autoscan (with the current ABS module)
Second-Third-Fourth steps: change modules and do whatever bleeding as required
Fifth Step: code new module with VCDS with old coding (modify in case new unit has more bytes)
Sixth step: basic settings on the 'new' ABS unit.

If the coding doesnt work, post an updated autoscan, along with brake size (this is in options code sticker on the car), if it had/has TPMS, HHC, etc. Assuming LHD since your signature says 'USA'; and assuming it has TPMS since it's a 2008+ USA car.

What's the part number you have and checked? (My wild guess would be a 'BJ' ;) )
