Replace the Passat B8 (2018) front camera

I bought a Passat B8 (2017/2018), but the ACC, Light Assist, Lane Assist and all systems that depends on front camera never worked. In the Volkswagen’s car dealership, they said I must change the frontal camera but is too expansive there.

So, I bought a new one in Aliexpress.

My camera code is 3Q0 980 654 H 0272 / 3Q0 980 654 A H07.

I tried to buy the same, but they send a 3Q0 980 654 H 0272 / 3Q0 980 654 A H09.

The only difference is the H09 at the final.

Only swapping the camera the car presents some light system errors (with the original one I don’t have errors, only the systems don’t work).

I took the car to some workshops in my town, including the Volkswagen’s car dealership, but they don’t know what to do to camera works.

I don’t have the VCDS, but they have, please, you can say what they must do?

Or can somebody program this camera remotely?

Or can I repair the original camera?

VW dealership knows exactly what needs to be done. So take the car to them.

They say that only can handle with cameras bought in the dealership itself (they cost $11.000 there, I bought for $1.000 outside).

Can you describe what they have to do? For me say to another workshop to do?

probably a static calibration with a calibration board and a test drive afterwards

But before do that is not necessary remove the errors?
Don't need some update in camera's firmware? A presentation to car's system or something like that?

The camera you bought off of Aliexpress can contain the incorrect dataset for B8. To flash the correct dataset, you need someone with ODIS. The dealer has it but obviously they can't do anything out of their scope.

I think you can get a solution to your issue if you find someone locally who does VW retrofits. These people usually have all the necessary tools (VCDS, ODIS etc) and the knowledge to quickly solve your issue.

Also the camera can be calibrated without the board
